Bentley Weekly Update 30.06.17

Head pupils and the new School Council will be elected before the end of term so they are ready to start the new term from the beginning. Next week, children who wish to be considered for School Council and/or Head Pupil could put up posters with their election promises and will need to be preparing their speeches. This can be done with parent support. Monday 10th July is the date for potential new School Councillors to do their speeches to the school and for the vote to take place. Tuesday 11th July is the date for potential new Head Pupils to do their speeches to the school and Mrs Austin, followed by the vote. Mrs Austin will then interview potential Head Pupils on Monday 17th July. Children can go for both jobs but you do need to be in Year 5 or 6 in September to be a Head Pupil. School Councillors are selected from each year group.

Final Flute Lesson – Year 5 and 6 will travel to Copdock on Monday for flute for the last time next week. They will need to meet the bus as usual and make sure they have their flute with them to hand in. Any lost instruments will be charged for.

Bourne Park Trip – Just a reminder that your child will need to come in to school on Tuesday in their sports day kit (team colour t-shirt) but will also need to bring with them a coat / shower proof jacket and or sun cream and sun hat according to the weather. They will also need to bring in a sandwich and drinks – other picnic foods will be provided.

Homework – Years 3, 4 and 5 have maths homework to be handed in next Friday. This will be the last piece of homework for them this academic year.
