Federation Review
In the past couple of weeks, we have been reflecting with staff and pupils on the key experiences we have missed due to the pandemic. We have explored what they remembered about our previous experiences of working together, and what they would like to be planned going forwards. We are keen to rebuild and enhance opportunities for partnership working across our schools, enabling children, parents, staff and governors to experience the many positives collaboration brings.
As part of our review, it is important that we gather the views of all members of our school community, so we can decide some key actions to help us get partnership working back on track. On Monday we will be sending out a short online questionnaire for parents to share their views. Please take a few moments to consider the questions so we can consider your views too.

Lego Club
We are looking at running a Lego Club after school for an hour on a Thursday each week.  The cost would be £3.99 per child, per week, payment to be made for each half term in advance. If this is something that your child would be interested in attending please could you email the office so that we have an idea of numbers and if the club is viable.

Parent Consultations

Thank you to all those who have booked an appointment for your parent consultations.  If you have yet to do so, the slots close on Monday morning so log into the website now to book your slot.  If you are unable to make any of the times available, please contact the office.

Cross-Country

On Wednesday 30th we have children from KS2 participating in the Cross-Country at Royal Hospital School.  Participants need to be collected from school and taken to RHS for 1:15pm, all participants will need collecting from RHS at around 4:15pm - parents are welcome to stay and support the children.  Thank you to our marshall volunteers who are making this possible, and to the parents who have offered and arranged transport to reduce the number of vehicles attending.  Participants will need to wear PE kits and trainers.  They are able to have a hot dinner beforehand.  Please ensure they have drinks and snacks, and something warm to put on as they will be waiting in between their race times, when they too can support their fellow runners.

KS1 Trip

As per the letter emailed home last week via the website, KS1 children will be going on an exciting trip on Thursday 31st to Colchester Castle.  Children need to wear school uniform and comfortable footwear.  They will also need a waterproof coat, a packed lunch and a drink with them.  They will be leaving school after registration and returning before the end of the school day. If you have not paid the £5 for the trip as yet, please could you send it in with your child on Monday.

Easter Service and parade

A reminder of our annual Easter service at the church this year on Friday 8th April. Children will need dropping off at the church at 8.45am and we will walk back to school after the event. Parents are welcome to join us for the Easter service and fond farewells to Mrs Rudge .Hopefully you are already planning their Easter bonnets.

Mother's Day afternoon tea

Thank you for Aimee and the PTA for their amazing work laying on a fabulous afternoon tea for some parents and children on Thursday; the hall looked lovely and the cakes and sandwiches looked very professional.

Go Purple Day

Another thank you to everyone for supporting our Go Purple Day today to raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy Action

Safety in the morning at drop off

To ensure everyone's safety, please can we ask that parents do not arrive too early in the mornings, the gate opens at 8.40am, and please join the queue along the pavement.  Please can you ask children to get off their scooters / bikes in the queue and push them into the school grounds. This will help in not congesting the pavement and keeping children safe. Thank you for your support.

 Easter Holiday camp

We have been advised that there are some free school meal places for the Easter holidays at a holiday camp at Brantham Leisure centre. You can click on the link and fill in the form which is on this link. This is no cost to free school meal children.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life.
