Bentley Weekly Update 22/01/21

Good afternoon all,

It has been great to see so many children uploading their learning to the discussions each day, well done and thank you! Teachers are beginning to focus in on specific pieces of learning now to support feedback. Please make sure you check videos carefully for the focused piece of learning requested each day, but you can upload more than this if you want to share what you have been doing.

Children are also receiving a piece of work to be uploaded to the homework area of their dashboard. This is a closed area for each child where work will receive more detailed feedback and next steps. It is important that you support your child to upload to this area please. Instructions are available on the document sent home recently, also on the website 872858 (bentleycopdock.co.uk)

All children need to upload photos or documents for their homework on the homework tab of School Spider today please.
We will be contacting any parents on Monday who haven't done this, as we need to see this homework task every week so that we can give feedback and next steps to each child. Thank you.

Live links
Due to some technical hitches, we have reset the links to each of the live sessions taking place throughout the week. These links are on each class discussion ready for the day. Please remember to log in with your child's name as you will not be admitted. We understand for some of you it will only show your name as a parent; this is fine too as long as we can identify you.
Staff testing
As of next week, staff (who choose to) will be taking part in the LFD testing process twice a week. This will help to identify any asymptomatic cases within school. Should a member of staff test positive, parents must be aware that this could lead to short notice closure of a class bubble. Notification will initially be given via text message and advice to follow sent via email. Please make alternative arrangements in case this happens.

Supporting family well-being
Please follow this link to find out about workshops for parents and carers. These workshops are led by the NSFT Psychology in Schools team. Topics covered in the workshops include; surviving lockdown mark 3, supporting our young people with anxiety and low mood and a session that looks at tools for managing uncertainty. Information re how to request a place at these workshops can be found on the well-being pages using the above-mentioned link.
