  • This coming half term sees lots of fundraising and awareness days. We appreciate that some of you will want to support these days financially and some of you may choose to mark them for awareness. As a school we will be marking the days with specific events or activities and if you choose to make contribute to these events we will gratefully receive them on your behalf. Please do not feel any pressure to donate to all events.

World Book Day Sponsored Read

As part of ‘World Book Day’ this year, we are running a sponsored read to raise money to buy books for our class libraries and the Class Book Bingos.  The children will also be involving in choosing the books they would like to buy with the money.  This will run for two weeks from Friday 18th February until Friday 4th March (World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March).

Any reads can be part of our school Reading Challenge where you have to read for 5 times a week for at least 10 minutes.  There will be a prize for the class that raises the most money!

All you have to do is:

  • Choose what you want to read – fact, fiction, audio-books, blogs, comics or magazines
  • Ask family and friends (never strangers) to sponsor you per book, per page, per 10 minutes.  It’s up to you!
  • Write your reads (or ask a grown-up to) in your Reading Diary or Log Book/Rhino for the Reading Challenge.
  • Bring your money into school along with this completed form by Friday 11th March 2022.
Each child will need a hard copy of the form. Any questions, please let Mrs Robinson know.

RED NOSE DAY FRIDAY 18th MARCH 2022

School Council would like to take part in raising money for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day 2022 by inviting children to dress up in red or whacky clothes for a contribution of £1 - there will be a prize for the best costume per class.  We are aware that we have already supported other charities this term and therefore would like to stress that this is a voluntary event but would like to honour this day as it is a national charity day.  In addition, as the theme for Comic Relief is 'Funny Is Power', we would welcome contributions to our 'Joke Hat' by sending in jokes, suitable for children, that can be read out in each class during the day.  These can be emailed to the office or directly to Mrs Robinson.

Suffolk Food Hall trip

On Tuesday, Hedgehogs and Woodpeckers went on a trip to Suffolk Food Hall. Despite the rain, the children had a wonderful time conducting geography fieldwork activities and sketching the beautiful view of the Orwell Bridge. The children were so excited to be able to go on a trip again and they thoroughly enjoyed the day. The free hot chocolate that Suffolk Food Hall provided was most gratefully received too! A big thank you to the PTA for covering the cost for Hedgehogs class.
Some photos are attached.
