Woodpeckers week beginning 16th November

Date: 16th Nov 2020 @ 4:37pm

Happy Monday Woodpeckers smiley.

I hope you all had a good weekend with your family- a rather wet one.

Last week we trialled the CGP Maths booklets (as mentioned in last weeks blog) and thank you to all the children who completed their homework and handed it in today. The book is based on the previous year, so Year 4's have a Year 3 booklet and Year 3 have a Year 2 booklet. We have had a trial of the booklet and for some childern this is working well. However, for some others we have decided to send home some extra, more challenging maths sheets to meet their needs. Please work with your child to complete these and these need to be completed and brought in for next Monday -23rd November. We will continue with this homework method moving forward.

The Year 4's will shortly finish their SPAG CGP book. When the book is complete we will be sending all of Woodpeckers home with one piece of English homework a week and one piece of maths homework a week. This will then continue for the rest of the school year.

In addition, today the children have been set some topic homework that is due in on Monday 14th December. The children have been asked to create a diorama of a tropical rainforest. Some picture examples of these are attached to this blog. Please can the children label the 4 layers of the rainforest on their diorama and write up some information on the different layers- e.g. what plant life/ animal life can be found in the different layers, what the layers are like in terms of light and humidity etc.

Any further questions on any of the homework, please do email me via the office to discuss.

Thank you all for your continued partnership with Homework.
