Woodpeckers Monday 29th June 2020

Date: 23rd Jun 2020 @ 2:21pm

Good Morning Woodpeckers,

It's Monday again! How did that week go so fast?

I hope you have had a wonderful week and that you enjoyed some of the beautiful sunshine- gosh it was hot wasn't it!

This weeks theme is 'music'. Mrs North and I have created a fun and engaging week of learning for you all and we are looking forward to seeing some of your learning on the weekly discussion page.

We are carrying on with the Talk for Writing Unit from last week- The Stone Trolls. This is attached again for your reference.

In maths this is our last week of statistics, we are focusing on comparison, sum and difference, tables and line graphs. You will find the PowerPoints and documents in the attachments.

There are some lovely afternoon activites that we have planned such as creating artwork in the style of Kandinsky, dance mat typing, move to music, explore music and create an instrument!

Spellings for the week:                                                                                                                                                                  Mrs Handscombe's group focus -   The /er/ sound spelled with ‘o’ or ‘ar’.

word, work, worm, world, worth, war, warm, towards warn, warned.

Mrs North's group focus – Revision of spelling rules

On the Wednesday afternoon activity Mrs Handsombe has suggested that you look at the video and activities on 'texture'. You haven't done this in class this academic year so it would be good for you to have a look at it.

Have a wondeful week of learning and remember to keep active as often as you can.

Take care,

Mrs Collins and Mrs North smiley
