Woodpeckers 7.3.22

Date: 6th Mar 2022 @ 6:15pm

Good morning Woodpeckers,

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Our learning behaviour of the week is, 'Tune In - Concentrate' and our Value is 'Forgiveness'.

Vocabulary words this week are: 'sacrifice' and 'stamina'.

Reminders:

PE Kits to be worn on Monday and Fridays and bring swimming kits Monday

We will also be moving onto our new topic this half term called, 'A river runs through it'. During the topic, we will be exploring the physical geography of rivers and their features. Then we will study the River Stour.

PSHE Healthy Lifestyles

Last week the children brought home a Food and Exercise Diary sheet to complete. Please can you make sure this is completed and brought in by Wednesday as we will be using these during our PSHE lessons. Thank you.

Shared Learning

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Shared Learning afternoon, it was lovely to have you all back in school and being able to view the children's books. A big thank you for all the parent comments on the sheets provided too- some really great comments and some actions for me, ready for Parents Evening :).

Homework

Thank you again for your continued support with Woodpeckers homework- the children are producing some wonderful pieces of work. As always, homework is due in on Tuesday. Please make sure your child is completing the English homework as well as their 'choice' from the new homework sheet.

Times Tables

Year 4's will be completing the Statutory National Times Table Check in June this year so as much practise as possible is needed for them to be able to quickly answer times tables up to 12 x 12. We will be suporting the children in class with this too.

It is really important that you continue to practise your times tables as often as possible at home. Our current Maths unit is Multiplication and Division and the children need to be able to apply their understanding of times tables.

Have a lovely week,

Mrs Collins and Mrs Mann.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
