Dear parents,

I hope you have all had a good Easter break and that the children are well rested. I am looking forward to seeing all their smiling faces on Monday. I spent a couple of days in school at the end of last term to introduce myself and meet the children, and this should aid a smooth transition into the summer term.

This coming week we shall be beginning our new geography topic, comparing our part of the UK with a contrasting non-European country, Kenya. In Science, we begin looking at 'Living things and their habitats' and start by examining properties of living things. In art, we will begin to look at different types of printmaking.

In maths we are looking at money, different coins and notes, finding and making quanitites and amounts, and working out change. We will also be putting  this into practise daily with 'purchasing' our snacks in class.

In English we are looking at a non-fiction text of writing a tour guide. We will read a model text, look at it's features and begin to plan our own 'Safari tour guide', linked to our geograhy topic.

Our value this term is 'Friendship' and the learning behaviour focus this week is 'enjoying learning'.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
