Welcome to week 3, this week our learning behaviour is tuning in and concentrating.

Reception Vocabulary - between, big

Year 1&2 - environment, individual

Well done to the Year 2's on all doing their maths homework book; your comments were really helpful parents.  It is nice to see more children going on ttrockstars to practise their times tables and on Spelling Shed for the games.  I was really pleased with the spelling scores in Year 1&2 this week, thank you for your support at home.  Lots of children moved to a new keyword sheet this week, of they could read the words straight off without sounding out.  If they are still sounding out, we haven't changed their sheet.  We are looking forward to Adelaide's Mum helping with this on Thursday afternoons soon.

Reception children are now learning their digraphs - 2 letters that make 1 sound, and are doing really well. Their phonic books which they do for homework are being updated and you will have new sheets to practice this week.

Monday - normally no toys are allowed, but on Monday could each chld bring in their favourite toy.  We are looking at gender issues this week in PSHE.

Friday - for our art we need some large faces in magazines that we can cut out to make our art.  If anyone has any magazines we can have, please send them in.

Science - we are looking at animal groups, and in particular mammals and birds.  We also have a visit from a beekeeper on Wednesday, with no live bees obvously!

Wriitng - reception will be writing a Dear Farm book on the lines of Dear Zoo and Year 1&2 are writing their own poem.

Maths - we are looking at 3D shape, can they spot cubes, cuboids, cones, cyclinders, spheres, pyramids at home or on the way to school?  How many faces, edges and vertices do they have?  Year 2 will be finding out what a polyhedron is.

Our trainee student teacher is called Miss Gosling and she will be starting to take a few lessons with the children this week.

Have a good week.
