Squirrels 15.03.2021

Date: 12th Mar 2021 @ 6:20pm

This week, we will be revisiting addition in numeracy and thinking about character feelings in Vlad and the Great Fire of London.  There is an art focus and we will be learning how to make different marks on paper and how to use different media to create artwork of the Great Fire of London.  We will also be linking this to diversity and capturing the uniqueness of flames.

Please check in here daily as I will try to update every day with messages  and what the children have been doing.

Monday 15th

Children will not be doing PE today so uniform as usual please.  They will be doing PE tomorrow so come to school in kit on Tuesday. We had a great day today and set our houses on fire.  The fire spread very quickly, just like it did in the Great Fire of London.

Tuesday 16th

We did a dance linked to the Great Fire of London outside on the playground to music with Mrs Austin.

We are hoping to have assessed everyone for reading by the end of the week and will send 5 books home. We will continue the system that was in place last term, where books can be returned on a Tuesday and Thursday, and new books given out on Friday.

Wednesday 17th

Thursday 18th

Today we've used our mark making skills from earlier in the week to create flames.  we talked about how every flame is different which is like diversity.  Our art work will beable to be viewed in a virtual exhibition which we are in the process of planning so look out for more information about this over the next few weeks in the newsletter.

Friday 19th

I have given reading books and common spelling words to all children who brought a book bag into school.  Please can you make sure your child has their book bag every day-thank you.

Have a lovely weekend and hopefully the sun will continue to shine!
