Kittens 19.4.21

Date: 16th Apr 2021 @ 5:52pm

Bonjour Kittens!

I hope you had a nice weekend and are ready for a new week of home learning. This week our learning behaviour is tuning in - concentrating.

This week we are continuing our learning all about Australia. Last week we found out about where in the world it is, how it is split into states and territories and what the weather and climate can be like. I wonder what we are going to learn this week?

We will also continue our PSHE theme of medicines and drugs. Last week we talked about the things that go inside our bodies and how medicines are drugs that can make us feel better when we are ill.

Please be reminded that only water should be in your child's water bottle. If your child doe not like water, then please add only a dash of flavouring and reduce until there is only water. Many thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

Homework:

Year 1.

Please continue to read at least 5 times a week. I have given you new tricky words to learn and new spellings too.

You and your grown-ups might like to look at the Year 1 common exception words that you need to read and write by the end of Year 1. They can be found here. If you have any free time, why not try and learn more of them.

We are working on learning our number facts off by heart. I have given you a daily Maths challenge in your homework book.

Reception

At the bottom of this blog you will find our In school this week overview for our learning last week.

Please continue to read at least 5 times a week. Please continue to go over your sounds daily, especially those digraphs and trigraphs. They can be a real challenge sometimes! I have also given you new tricky words to learn. Ask your grown-ups to look at the link to find some fun ways to help you learn them.

I have also set you weekly spellings. You will find your spelling quiz book in your reading folder. Learn them over the week ready for your spelling quiz on Friday.

I hope you have a fun week of learning.

Best wishes,

Mr Ross :-)
