Kittens 14.6.21

Date: 13th Jun 2021 @ 5:50pm

Good morning Kittens!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine!

Now that Summer has finally arrived, please remember to bring in a sun hat each day and your water bottle. Please also remember, that there should only be water in your water bottle. If you are not too keen on water, maybe a dash of something to add flavour until you get use to water. Thank you.

Our learning behaviour this week is tune in.

In Maths, we will continue to explore simple fractions - whole, half and Year 1 will be thinking about quarters.

In Science, we will continue to look at plants and trees. We will be identifying the types of trees we have growing around us by studying their leaves.

In PSHE, we will be exploring all the great things we can do with our amazing bodies like running, dancing and drawing.

Year 1

Please continue to read at least 5 times a week.

This week's spellings include the long vowel digraph oo as in zoo.

For Maths, please use this video to support you finding half of a number and then complete a few examples each night.

You might like to play this reading game to help you to see and read the words that include the digraphs and trigraphs we have been learning.

Please continue to learn your tricky words. Ask your grown-ups to look at the link to find some fun ways to help you learn them. I have added a tricky word bookmark today in your reading folder with last week's tricky words on.

You will find new spellings in your quiz book. Learn them over the week ready for your spelling quiz on Friday.

You can find 'My learning this week' for last week at the bottom of this page.

Let's have a great week of learning!

Best wishes,

Mr Ross :-)
