Kittens - 14.12.20

Date: 14th Dec 2020 @ 2:57pm

Good morning Kittens,

Welcome to Monday and the third week of advent. How have you and your family been getting ready for Christmas?

This week our learning behaviour is 'tune in and concentrate'.

Home learning:

Yr 1 -

Please learn this week's spellings. Just to clarify this week they are:  high, sight, light, right, night,  bright, fright, midnight, they, one. Thank you

Please continue to learn your 'spot words' and the new sheet of 'tricky words' I have given you.

I know sometimes, some of you muddle b and d when you are reading and writing. Ask your grown-up to have a look at this link to give you some games to play to help you remember.

We will continue to look at new ways of making the previous sounds we have learnt like ai - ay. Remember to go over last week's sounds using your flashcards. You can play some free online phonic games using this link. Click here

I will give new handwriting sheets after Christmas. I have added a game for you to play matching lowercase and uppercase letters. You can find this in your folder today, Cut out each pig and match the capital to it's lowercase. Time yourself to see if you can get faster and faster!

In Maths, we are continuing to learn our number bonds. This week is 7. Click this link to help you remember them.

Reception

Take a look at your learning from last week and talk to your grown-ups about the things you can remember.

I will add new handwriting sheets after Chrismas but why don't you continue to have a go spelling your tricky words like we have been doing in school. Can you try and spell, I, no, go, to, the, into, put. See if you can 'wow' your grown ups at home!

Remember to keep looking at your  'spot words' and 'tricky words'. I will give you a new spot word keyring on Tuesday. I know you are finding your tricky words harder to remember, so have a listen to this song to help you. It is really catchy. Click here. Please click here. Here is a link for your grown-ups to give them some ideas to help you too. Grown-ups please click here.

Have a great week! We are doing lots of exciting things to help us get ready for Christmas!
