Good morning Hedgehog families,

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Our learning behaviour of the week is, 'Tune In - Concentrate' and our value is 'Forgiveness'.

Vocabulary words this week are: 'sacrifice' and 'stamina'.

Reminders:

PE Kits to be worn on Monday and Fridays and bring swimming kits Monday

We will also be moving onto our new topic this half term called, 'A river runs through it'. During the topic, we will be exploring the physical geography of rivers and its features. Then we will study the River Stour.

We will be having a RE WOW day on Wednesday. We will be exploring the Christian concept of 'sacrifice' and our big question, 'Is the cross a symbol of love, sacrifice or commitment for Christians?'.

Shared Learning

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Shared Learning afternoon, it was lovely to have you all back in school and being able to view the children's books. If you were unable to attend and would like to see your child's books, then please let me know and we can arrange another day after school.

World Book Day

As part of World Book Day this year, we are running a sponsored read to raise money to buy books for our class libraries and the class book bingos. The children will also be involved in choosing the books they would like to buy with the money.  This will run for from Monday 28th  February until Friday 4th March (World Book Day is on Thursday 3rd March).  Any reads can be part of our school Reading Challenge where you have to read for 5 times a week for at least 10 minutes.  There will be a prize for the class that raises the most money!  All you have to do is:

  • Choose what you want to read - fact, fiction, audio-books, blogs, comics or magazines
  • Ask family and friends (never strangers) to sponsor you per book. per page, per 10 minutes
  • Write your reads (or ask a grown-up to) in your Reading Diary or Log Book/Rhino for the Reading Challenge
  • Bring your money into school along with the completed form (attached) by Friday 11th March 2022
